Guest lecture - on Issues and challenges faced by sexual minors and transgenders By Akkai Padmashali - founder of Ondede a NGO.

The Department of Women Studies organized a guest lecture by renowned LGBT activist Akkai Padmashali on 6th of September 2016. The audience primarily consisted of mainly the UG students along with few members of the faculty. She is the founder of Ondede a NGO formed to highlight and raise issues, discrimination and concerns surrounding the sexual minorities on various platforms. She spoke Issues and the challenges faced by sexual minors and transgenders. She also spoke on the constitutional laws discriminating against them and also the need to enact new laws for their welfare. The guest lecture provided insight to the students on the issues faced by the community.
