BA Psychology, Journalism and Optional English

Course Description
The above mentioned B.A. course offered at IIPR is a wonderful blend of classic as well as contemporary subjects, giving students opting for this course a platform to pursue further studies in different fields of their interest. This course is a comprehensive and confidence winning combination of subjects giving students an edge over others in the corporate world.

Course Duration
The undergraduate programmes offered at IIPR follows the three major systems. Being an affiliated college of Bengaluru Central University, IIPR follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS-Semester Scheme) in the undergraduate level.

Course Duration:
• SIX Semesters (Three Academic years) for the Bachelor of Arts(B.A.) Degree

Each semester shall consist of at least 16 weeks of study with a minimum of 90 working days. (Excluding the time spent for the conduct of final examination of each semester).

Eligibility
The candidate applying for this course should have passed 10+2 / P.U.C./12th or equivalent with minimum of 40% marks aggregate. Knowledge of English is mandatory.

Course Work
1.The course is spread into both theory as well as practical papers.
2. In addition to the theory and practical papers, students will have two language papers: the first language being General English and the second language being Kannada/Hindi/Additional English/Sanskrit/Tamil/Malayalam.
3. Field work /Extension Activities is compulsory for every semester. The students are encouraged for these activities. These activities help the students to apply the theoretical knowledge that learn to the outside world.
4. Educational trips are organized periodically. The students are taken to various places such as rehabilitation centres/ media centres/ outreach programmes whereby providing a platform to study outside classroom
5.Personal mentoring programs are held in a regular basis. This provides a platform for the students to share their concerns regarding academics or other personal issues.
Specialization

Student who opts for this course majors in all three subjects which are part of this combination. This gives the student the option to pursue their Masters Degree course in any of the three subjects studied.
